Enos D. Yager

      Private funeral services for Enos D. Yager, whose death was briefly noted in the Oneonta Star yesterday, will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from his home, 75 Center St. Rev. Dr. Edson J. Farley, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery.
      Mr. Yager died at 2:30 o'clock, Thursday afternoon at his home as a result of infirmities of age. About 12 years ago he suffered several shocks as the result he had been unable to walk. He has since been an invalid, but there was nothing in his condition to cause particular alarm within the past several days.
      Enos D. Yager was born on a farm on West St, January 7, 1854, the son of Solomon and Louise ( Walling) Yager, both of these families were among the first settlers of Oneonta. On April 28, 1875, he took as his bride Emma E. Couse of Oneonta, who died about 20 years ago.
      Mr. Yager was for a number of years a successful farmer, but retired about 35 years ago. he was a man of friendly disposition and had many friends throughout this vicinity.
      Surviving ar eone daughter, Mrs. Carol L. Griffin, who had for many years cared for her father; three grandchildren, Maurice Barnett of State St and Mrs. Beulah Hickein and Felix Barnett, both of 75 Center St; and three great grandchildren, Katherine, Elnora, and Frederick Hickein; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary E. Yager of Gifford Hill; a nephew, Burton E. Swart of Goodyear Lake; two neices, Mrs William Barlow of East End and Mis Clara Youngman of Goodyear Lake. To them the sympathy of wide circles of friends will be extended.
